*Hundreds of passengers at Stansted Airport have been caught up in 'unacceptably long' queues as border control points at the travel hub struggle to cope with bank holiday travellers.*
Last night, ahead of the three-day break, delays of as long as two hours were experienced by tourists hoping to pass immigration controls and enter the UK.

A spokesman for Stansted has admitted the problem has left airport bosses searching for answers and that immediate action is required.
'The majority of passengers arriving at Stansted pass through border controls quickly and securely. However, at peak times, and similar to many other UK airports, immigration queues can be unacceptably long,' he stated.
Many passengers took to Twitter and other social networking sites to express their frustration at the handling of their arrival at the London airport.
Beth Cooper of Ightham, Kent, told the BBC she had been held up by 45 minutes after landing on a flight from Cork, Ireland. She described the situation at border control as 'really chaotic and badly organised'.
News of delays over the bank holiday will be a blow to the government and Olympics bosses, who are already facing up to the possibility of being unable to cope with the arrival of people for the Games in July.
