CAS rejects Russian appeal in Olympic sailing case

LONDON (AP) - The Court of Arbitration for Sport has rejected Russias appeal against an International Sailing Federation decision to declare Spain the winner of semifinal races in the Olympic womens Elliott 6-meter class. Russia wanted to continue semifinal racing Saturday after the governing body terminated the contest on Friday due to lack of wind in Weymouth. CAS says its sole arbitrator dismissed an appeal by the Russian Olympic Committee at 11:45 a.m.
