Makau, Mutai miss out on Olympic marathon squad

World marathon record holder Patrick Makau and former London and Boston champions Emmanuel Mutai and Geoffrey Mutai were left out of the Kenya squad named on Wednesday for this summer's London Olympics.

In a surprise move, the Kenyan team selectors said they were forced to name the team earlier than expected to end all the speculation regarding which of the athletes in the shortlisted Olympic squad announced in January could make the team.
