He won by more than two minutes, just ahead of fellow Kenyan Martin Lel who finished second before third place winner Tsegaye Kebede from Ethiopia.

Great Britain's Lee Merrien finished in 17th place with a time of 2hs 13mins 41secs but he was outside the Olympic 'A' standard of 2hrs 12mins.
Scott Overall, who is the only British man to be selected for the Olympics after finishing fifth place in Berlin last year, was forced to drop out after 15 kilometres following a hamstring strain after acting as a pacemaker for his fellow Brits.

Female Kenyan runner Keitany won with an unofficial time of 2hrs 18mins 36secs. This impressive time is a minute ahead of world champion Edna Kiplagat.
In the female race, Claire Hallissey was the first British athlete to cross the line, ending up in 11th place with an unofficial time of 2hrs 27mins 44secs.

Hallissey is now highly likely to score an Olympic place alongside Paula Radcliffe and Mara Yamauchi as her finish time was 40 seconds quicker than the time run by fellow Brit Jo Pavey last year.
Pavey is now at risk of not being selected for Team GB following her decision to sit out of today's London Marathon.
