Starting July 3rd, First Light Bicycle Tours will offer bike tours to cyclists who want to cycle the London 2012 Olympic Cycling Race Route. The guided tour offers cyclists three route and distance options. The one-day tours will include Hampton Court, the Surrey Hills and Box Hill, the highest point of the Olympic Road Race Route.
London UK (PRWEB) July 03, 2012
Cyclists and visitors to the 2012 Olympic Games can ride the same route as the Olympic hopefuls beginning in July 2012.
First Light Bicycle Tours created a guided bike tour to meet the demand for visitors seeking London-based cycling activities during the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Says David Bradley, spokesman for First Light, "We wanted to offer visitors and clients a chance to ride the same route as the pros. The routes take in the best parts of the Surrey Hills, especially the views from Box Hill, which are superb.
The three distance options cater to most road cyclist's abilities and having a guide takes away the worry of finding your way in the countryside or cycling in downtown London."
First Light provides 30, 48 and 60 mile options, with each tour starting and ending near Hampton Court Palace , easily accessed by a short train journey from Central London.
Cyclists can book a tour any day before or after the official Olympic road race days. Groups are limited to 10 persons each. Depending on the route distance, cycling time can be between 3-5 hours and the route is listed as easy to moderate difficulty level.
The rides are designed for leisure and more experienced cyclists who are interested in cycling on newly paved rural roads that highlight an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The one-day bike tours gives cyclists a great taste of what Olympic cyclists will be exposed to in the official 146 mile race, which includes 9 loops around Box Hill.
Says Bradley, "If you have tickets to the Box Hill section of the event, taking the guided bike tour is a great way to do a recce and find your perfect viewing spot on the Box Hill zig-zag."
The Olympic Road Race Route starts and ends at the Mall in Central London. The multiple road races run from July 28 to August 1.
First Light will be offering day-long bike tours on the 2012 London Olympic Road Route from July to October. The company offers guided and self guided bike tours, training camps, special event and sporting tours for the experienced, club, leisure and family cycle enthusiast. Tours are located in the UK, Austria, Italy, France, Czech Republic, Slovakia and other European countries.
