Danny Mills, a former England football star, is planning on cycling from Leeds to London (just over 200 miles) and then doing the London Triathlon the very next day in order to raise money for Shine, a charity which helps those suffering with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. Ripon, North Yorkshire (PRWEB UK) 29 June 2012

Danny, sadly, lost a baby son to Spina Bifida, so this year Danny and Shine are launching the “Archie Mills Memorial Challenge”. Danny is biking down from Leeds to London, and then also competing in the London Triathlon the following day. The London Triathlon, held in the ExCeL centre in London, consists of 1500m swim, 40km cycling and a further 10km run.

Spina Bifida is caused when the vertebrae don’t fuse, leaving a gap which then allows the spinal cord to push through. It can cause a whole host of physical symptoms, such as paralysis of the legs, bowel control problems and hip dislocation (to name a few).

If you would like to donate to this worthwhile cause, you can visit the Just Giving site hereext. The money will be spent on supporting the babies, children and parents in dealing with Spina Bifida, which affects over 75,000 people in the UK.

UK Bathroomsext, who have been a key donor for the fund raising event, are proud to be helping Danny raise money in supporting Shine.

This isn’t the first time Danny has raised money for Shine, as a patron, he completed the Brighton Marathon in a wheelchair.

Danny Mills was part of the England Football Squad for the 2002 World Cup; he’s also played for Leeds United as well as Manchester City.

UK Bathrooms are an online bathroom retailer specialising in branded, high quality, bathroom products.
