The bubbly thats forever added sparkle to all things glam, Mot & Chandon, is the first name that comes to mind when one things of fine wines. For more than a century Mot & Chandon has celebrated the glamour and star dust of international cinema. The Maisons support to international cinema was once again evident at the 19th annual amfAR Gala, Cinema Against AIDS where the final coffret of its legendary champagne, Grand Vintage 1911 was auctioned. Held during the 65th Cannes Film Festival, the 100 year old bubbly was auctioned for 150,000 ($187,000) with proceeds benefitting lifesaving AIDS research. Mot & Chandon has offered the Grand Vintage 1911 by hosting 11 auctions in 11 cities across the world including, Toronto, London, Paris, Melbourne, Beijing, Moscow, etc. The proceeds from each auction were donated to a local charity organization. The amfAR Gala was the last sale of this legendary bubbly, and saw the auction of the final coffret. The six numbered, limited-edition bottles were presented in an exquisitely elegant leather case. The vintage champagne flaunts a lovely golden yellow color with a bouquet redolent of brioche and candied fruits and a mellow, velvety and perfectly balanced structure. The amfAR Gala, one of the most anticipated events, celebrated the cinema worlds most successful celebrities at the Htel du Cap-Eden-Roc. In attendance were Karl Lagerfeld, Berenice Bejo and Michel Hazanavicius, Diane Kruger, Adrien Brody, Milla Jovovich, Kylie Minogue and many others.
