Bonhams offers Historic Aston Martin cars for sale

Abdul Vahid V: Bonhams Aston Martin sale has always garnered attention of auto enthusiasts and collectors alike. Two days more to go for the waiting of antique motorcar fanatics to the Bonhams annual Aston Martin Works Service Sale. The worlds largest antique collectible auctioneer is to sell out a huge set of Aston Martins motorcars and parts in the auction, to be held at the home of Aston Martin in Newport Pagnell, Bucks on May 19, 2012. This time around, Bonhams has listed about fifty Aston Martin motorcars from the 1952 Aston Martin DB2 Vantage Sports Saloon to the 2005 Aston Martin DB9 Volante for auction. The Prince of Wales 1994 Aston Martin Virage Volante is also in the Bonhams list for the upcoming auction. Here are some highlights of the 2012 Aston Martin Works Service Sale. Vintage Aston Martin cars auction 1991 Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato Sanction II Coup Estimated cost: $1.9 million - $2.4 million 1991 Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato Sanction II Coupe The wonderful 1991 DB4GT Zagato Sanction II Coup comes as the 239th item in the Bonhams auction list. This six-cylinder motorcar is one of respected Aston Martin vehicles and it was an outcome of the tie-up between Aston Martin and Zagato of Milan in 1960s. After a series of modifications, the recent version of the car comes for auction from its current owners David Clark and Michael Brinkert of Taylor & Crawley of Germany. The DB4GT Zagato Sanction II Coup is equipped with a 4.2-liter power engine and four-speed David Brown gearbox. The first owner of the reworked version of the car was the historic racer Tony Smith, who is also the manager of singer Phil Collins. 1994 Aston Martin Virage Limited Edition Coupe Estimated Price: $92,000 - $100,000 1994 Aston Martin Virage Limited Edition Coupe The Virage Limited Edition Coupe was a property of Heavyweight Boxing World Champion Lennox Lewis. The Coupe was manufactured late 1994 and when acquiring the vehicle Lewis was WBC Heavyweight World Champion. The car has received some subtle modifications over the years and it resembles its successor V8 model. The car has traveled about 33,000 miles, yet it comes for auction in a good condition. The Virage Limited Edition was overhauled for the automatic transmission in 2006. It comes in deep Jewel Green metallic with many advanced features like a satellite navigation system, stainless steel exhaust, custom-built stereo and many more. 1985 V8 Vantage Saloon: 007 James Bond Replica Estimated Price: $114,200- $152,300 1985 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Saloon The special V8 Vantage Saloon comes with winter scenes of The Living Daylights, the famous James Bond film. It was converted to the Living Daylights 007 Replica by its previous owner, who grabbed it at Aston Martin Works Service in 2003. The owner hired AMWS to turn the car into an amazingly looking replica. The Vantage Saloons recent modifications contain engine upgrade, fitting of the five-speed manual gearbox, new braking system and installation of 16-inch wheels. The car is reworked with Cumberland Gray and its interior leather is re-Connollised. Other features comprise of optional ski blades, an Alpine stereo system, Webasto sunroof and many more. 1975 Aston Martin Lagonda Series 1 Estimated Price: $400,000 - $480,000 1975 Aston Martin Lagonda Series 1 The Lagonda Series Saloon was built to revive the moribund Lagonda series in 1975. This Lagonda brand of the existing two-door V8 model got life in the special interest of Aston Martin owner David Brown, who wanted to be chauffeur driven in a vehicle of his own design. The Saloon was launched at the London Motor Show in 1974 and it was one of the most expensive cars of the time. A 7.0-Liter engine propels the Lagonda Series 1 with the Torqueflite automatic gearbox. Other advanced features of the redesigned car are stunning fuel delivery, battery, engine cooling and a high-specification alloy water radiator and so on. 1952 Aston Martin DB2 Saloon Estimated Price: $130,000 - $160,000 1952 Aston Martin DB2 Saloon The DB2 Saloon is one of the fastest sports cars ever with immense stamina and power. As well, it is acknowledged for its incredible comfort and luxury and is also effortless for driving outside of its automatic transmission carriages. The DB2 came up with a 2.6-liter engine, but was modified several times before its arrival for sale at the upcoming auction. According to is current owner, Aston Martin DB2 Saloon, which has only covered very few miles in the Republic of Ireland, where it is registered at ZV 6697. 1952 Aston Martin DB2 Vantage Sports Saloon Estimated Price: $140,000 - $170,000 The DB2 Vantage Sports Saloon was owned by the famous racer Michel Poberesjky, who rode the car in prominent races like the Tour de France Auto, 12 Hours of Hyeres, the Roubaix Grand Prix and others in the 1950s. The racing car brought several successes for Mile Sparken, the racing name of Poberesjky. The DB2 is now in amazing condition though having a life since early 60s. It still has the stamina to hit the racing events in Europe and across the world. The antique racing car comes with an original engine, bodywork and upholstery. It also boasts original accessories like headlights, wing mirrors and many others. 1971 Aston Martin DBS V8 Saloon Estimated Price: $24,000 - $32,000 The DBS V8 Saloon utilized several design cues of the six-cylinder DB engine. According to Autocar, the new V-8 weighs only 30lb heavier, but features 35 percent better power. Bill Towns designed the captivating car with four-seater capability with its platform-type chassis featuring autonomous suspension all round. The DBS model came up in 1969 with an estimated 345bhp from its 5,340cc four-cam motor. The car could move up to 100mph in mere 14 seconds and it could run a top speed of 160mph. The current owner bought the antique car at Bonhams’ sale at The National Motor Museum in 2005 and it now shows coverage of 65,155 miles. Of course, the DBS V8 Saloon will be one of the great picks of the auction. 2005 Aston Martin DB9 Volante Estimated Price: $67,000 - $72,000 The DB9 Volante sportscar is one of the recent items from Aston Martin for auction at the Bonhams Aston Martin Works Service Sale. The car stands out with its GT levels of refinement and comfort and it also combines the British luxury carmakers unique character with a wonderful design philosophy. This family owned car comes with a finished blue or grey metallic body with blue leather interior and a stunning semi-automatic transmission system. Besides Bonhams has set records in the heritage market with its historic Aston Martin car auctions, including the 1965 DB5 Aston Martin driven by James Bond in Goldfinger and Thunderball for over 1million, a 1962 Aston Martin DB4.
